Project: Home Repairs for Superior Exterior
Putting snow melt and rainwater in its place
This siding/ roof panel was "going green" in the wrong way with mold, mildew and rot. The lower end of this section had also degraded to the point that rainwater was running through an opening in the siding into the cavity between the exterior wall board and the drywall.
I replaced the old siding/ board with AC2 green-treated plywood. Prior to that, I also replaced old flashing that was doing more harm than good in directing rainwater. Step flashing under the shingles was still in good shape. After replacing rotted wall board at the bottom section, I installed window flashing tape and new aluminum flashing to move water away from the siding at the gutter level.
Final project photos were not immediately available due to the months-long delay waiting for the pressure-treated boards to cure prior to painting.
